Hole #1 323 yds. 303 yds. 273 yds.
Viewed from the elevated tee the fairway is located straight away 50′ below the tee. The terrain is mildly undulating to a medium size green guarded on the left by tall trees and on the right by a large mound and a well placed mature pine tree that will block access from the right side of the fairway & right rough. This hole is the #15 handicap hole and is a relatively easy starting hole for most players.
Hole #2 330 yds. 276 yds. 264 yds.
Hole #3 376 yds. 366 yds. 208 yds.
This medium length hole plays from an elevated tee to a severe dogleg left into a two tiered green. There is a wetland hazard as well as a fairway bunker on the left and out of bounds frames the right. A large swale fronts the slightly uphill green that is protected by a large bunker on the left and divided into two levels. Two putting for par can be difficult if you land on the wrong tier on this 5th ranked handicap hole.
Hole #4 410 yds. 350 yds. 283 yds.
This long uphill par 4 is the #1 ranked handicap hole. Playing from an elevated tee box into a tapered landing zone the player is faced with a blind second shot ( aim at the rose target ) into a well defended green complex. Bunkering on the right and a grass swale on the left and to the rear make for a difficult up & down for par.
Hole #5 510 yds. 487 yds. 386 yds.
This challenging downhill par 5 plays a little less than the scorecard yardage due to the significant elevation change for your 2nd shot. Longer hitters may reach this green and have an eagle or birdie opportunity. Out of bounds lines the right side and rear of this #7 ranked hole. Bunkers frame the the left side of the fairway and guard the green while severe mounding protects the front approach. The player may choose to lay up and hit a relatively easy 3rd shot into this green for a birdie opportunity or par.
Hole #6 341 yds. 330 yds. 328 yds.
This short dogleg left par 4 is the #13 handicap hole. An accurate tee shot will set up a short iron into the green for a birdie opportunity. Favor the right side of this fairway that slopes from right to left. Most pin locations are accessible with a short iron shot. Out of bounds lurks all the way along the right side and rear of the green. The hole is well protected by a well placed bunker.
Hole #7 380 yds. 370 yds. 347 yds.
This hole is ranked #3 requiring two well struck shots to have a chance at a par 4. The dogleg right is guarded by large mature trees and thick rough on both sides. The second shot is uphill into a narrow green perched on top of the hill protected by a false front. Deep bunkers await shots on the left and a grass swale well below the green elevation protects the right. If you miss this green you have a tough task to save par here.
Hole #8 340 yds. 370 yds. 293 yds.
This short par 4 is the #9 ranked handicap hole doglegging to the right and requiring a well placed tee shot. The tee is set into the tree line on the right side and the landing zone is lined with large trees on the left blocking your access into the small undulating green. Play a fading tee shot to set up a scoring opportunity here. A large front bunker provides a false front to the small green that is undulating and designed to challenge your putting skills.
Hole #9 210 yds. 170 yds. 158 yds.
The only par 3 on the front nine is the #17 ranked handicap hole. This downhill hole is guarded by a brook on the left and a wetland area on the right, as well as a large front bunker. The medium size green is sloped to be receptive to incoming shots. Take less club than usual as this hole has the largest elevation change on the course.
Hole #10 365 yds. 355 yds. 298 yds.
The starting hole on the back nine begins with the #6 ranked handicap hole. The dogleg right has a wetland area on the right side. A large tree intrudes into the corner of the dogleg catching errant tee shots and making for a difficult par 4. The severely undulating fairway also slopes from left to right, making for an awkward stance. This green has no bunkers surrounding it but uses the sloping contour of the terrain to defend itself. Staying below the hole while minding the false front is a challenge on your approach shot.
Hole #11 412 yds. 388 yds. 367 yds.
This long par 4 is the #2 ranked handicap hole. The generous fairway allows the player plenty of room. The approach shot is the key to this very difficult green that slopes severely from right to left. Hit the wrong landing area here and you will visit one of the difficult bunkers or grass swales on the left. Miss on the right and you have to let gravity take over on the tricky slope of the green. This hole lives up to it’s #2 ranking!
Hole #12 510 yds. 503 yds. 486 yds.
This downhill par 5 is the #8 ranked handicap hole. The generous fairway sweeps gently to the right before the downhill portion of the hole funnels down until it reaches the green protected on both sides and rear by thick rough and well placed mounds. Longer hitters may have a go at reaching in two while shorter hitters may choose to lay up allowing a scoring club into the green.
Hole #13 110 yds. 105 yds. 88 yds.
This short par 3 is the #18 ranked handicap hole. The tee shot plays slightly longer due to the uphill terrain into the smallest green on the course. Out of bounds is just left of the green complex and missing long here will make par a difficult task. This small green has two tiers and is sloped from back to front.
Hole #15 180 yds. 165 yds. 150 yds.
This challenging par 3 is the #14 ranked handicap hole. The green is flanked on all sides by bunkers and mounds to challenge those who hit an errant tee shot. The green is divided by a ridge to challenge your putting skills.
Hole #16 365 yds. 330 yds. 230 yds.
This challenging par 4 is the #10 ranked handicap hole. A demanding tee shot over a wetland area to a generous fairway will put a scoring club into your hand. The approach shot is played into a challenging two tiered green.
Hole #17 328 yds. 303 yds. 268 yds.
The 17th hole is a par 4 and is considered by many to be the signature hole at Norwich Golf Course. The fairway of the #12 ranked handicap hole narrows down to 1/3 of its width flanked by large slopes on both sides that funnel your shots down to the bottom. The approach shot will be played blindly to the elevated green so club selection is very important. Choose wisely and an easy par can be yours.
Hole #18 178 yds. 166 yds. 156 yds.
The final hole is the #16 ranked handicap hole. The tee shot is played to an elevated green where only the back portion of the green is visible from the tee. Large bunkers protect both side of the green. A tee shot that comes up short allows for a simple up and down for par 3.
